Our Microneedling Service
Rocky Mountain Skin Care Clinic is proud to announce that we will soon be offering Microneedling! This popular new skin treatment may sound intimidating, but it could be exactly what you are looking for. This procedure, known also as collagen-induction therapy, is a minimally invasive process that involves using incredibly fine needles to puncture the outlying skin layer without pain. Through this process, incredibly small channels are created which help in the production of elastin and collagen, as well as encouraging new capillaries.
What results can I expect?
- Diminished acne
- Reduced scarring
- Improvement to skin firmness and texture
- Reduction in pore size and stretch marks
- Repairing of skin discoloration, such as the marks associated with sun damage
When mixed with stem cells, pure hyaluronic acid, vitamin-rich serums, or platelet-rich plasma, the results can be even more impressive. In some cases, Microneedling can even be used upon the scalp to aid in the restoration of hair follicles.
What preparation needs to be done? How will the procedure go?
Very little needs to be done prior to undergoing Microneedling. As with most skin-care therapies, it is recommended that you avoid major sun exposure for a period of twenty four hours prior to the procedure. It is also generally advised not to be taking blood thinning medication, such as ibuprofen or aspirin, before going in for the treatment.
Generally, the appointment will last a little less than half an hour. The area that will be treated will be cleaned and numbed with a gentle cream. Then, the micro-punctures will be applied, and you’ll be ready to go. Painless and invisible, the first results will begin to be seen almost immediately.
Similar to other skin care treatments, such as those with lasers, the skin will tend to be slightly more red than normal, and there might be some sensitivity. Even so, it is recommended that you don’t touch the treated area for several hours, and try to avoid major sun exposure for a few days after the procedure. Within a short time, the redness will subside and you’ll be able to see the results more clearly. Over the next few weeks, the skin should continue to improve even more. For the absolutely best care, several treatments with a few weeks in between are recommended, though not required.
Is Microneedling Right for Me?
Though it certainly might seem intimidating, this procedure is considered to be one of the most effective skin-care treatments at making skin look newer and more youthful. Virtually painless and without visible markings or damage, it will greatly improve the treated area’s production of collagen and elastin, both vital to the appearance and health of skin. With few possible side effects and much lower down time than comparable procedures, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.
